The Ridgetown Royals won the A final of the Gore Mutual Schoolboy Zone playdowns on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Kingsville.
They defeated Sarnia Northern and Sarnia St. Christopher’s on Saturday and on Sunday in the A final, they defeated Belle River 7-4.
The Ridgetown Royals team members are (Skip) Rob Ingram, (Vice) Crawford McKinlay, (Second) Billy Brien and (Lead) Willy Bolt.
They advance to the Regional playdowns in Brantford on February 4-5.

Bob Ingram (left) anchored the winning team of Patti VanderGriendt, Janice Ingram and Robbie Ingram in the Ridgetown Curling Club's annual Swing 'N' Sweep event. Twenty-four people enjoyed nine holes of golf followed by six-ends of curling on Saturday afternoon, November 5th.
Thanks to all who attended our annual Swing ‘N’ Sweep event. The weather was terrific with sunny skies and warm temperatures. Who would have thought we could have spring-like temperatures in November! I hope everyone had enough to eat, and the burgers were barbecued to perfection!
A big thank you to all who volunteered their time and efforts. I think everyone had a great time, getting in that extra 9-holes of golf and enjoyed the 6-ends of curling. Let’s hope that next year’s weather holds up as good as this one did.
